The Homily: The Man More Powerful than God
A priest’s sermon during Mass at Medjugorje recounted a homily that St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, once delivered in his parish in Ars, France about prayer.
“In one of his homilies,” the priest celebrant said, “St. John Marie Vianney startled his parishioners with his sermon.
“I know a man more powerful than God!,” He exclaimed.
That surely woke his parishioners, pondering who such a man could be.
“He’s the man who prays,” Fr. Vianney said.
“He who prays can affect God’s heart; he can make Him change his plans!” He added.
